Glaneuse Coastal Home

Architectural extension for Point Lonsdale family home

Architecturally designed extension of a 5 bedroom family home complete with dual ventilating light wells and custom-built entertainer’s kitchen. Louvred light wells allow substantial natural light into the kitchen and entertaining areas as well as facilitating passive cooling with cross-flow ventilation of sea breezes. Redistribution and use of existing materials on site to reduce necessary framing timber and waste. Cedar timber cladding, a renewable resource, was used externally in conjunction with high levels of insulation to assist in internal temperature control.

This cleverly designed renovation project transformed this family home into a coastal retreat with space for the extended family. Specialist features such as the canter-levered wrap around deck, and stunningly crafted interior and exterior staircases provide a point of uniqueness. Expansive north facing openings with high light windows ensure adequate light and breeze throughout the home.
