Mont Albert Renovation

Full renovation in Geelong – traditional charm meets modern comfort

This full renovation and rear extension beautifully balance traditional character with modern functionality, breathing new life into a classic home while preserving its original charm.

The renovation focused on restoring and celebrating the home’s heritage features — including the arched entry and hallway, bay windows, and timber flooring throughout. Each element was carefully preserved or reinstated to reflect the home’s original craftsmanship, while updated bathrooms and refreshed finishes bring a sense of modern comfort.

All windows were replaced with double glazed timber panelled casement windows, thoughtfully designed to remain in keeping with the home’s era. The original fireplace was reimagined with traditional red brickwork, seamlessly blending old and new.

To the rear, a generous extension creates a light-filled kitchen and living area beneath high raked ceilings, delivering a sense of openness and space. The new kitchen combines modern design with subtle heritage details, offering a perfect balance of style and practicality.

A timber deck connects the interior to the newly renovated garage, with external finishes carefully chosen to match the original architecture. The result is a cohesive and elegant transformation — one that respects the past while creating a warm and functional home for modern living.
